Modal Sidebar In Widgets Not Showing Up

Hello support team,

On the sidebar on this page http://www.soundshockaudio.com/tutorials/

I have added the Tutorials Sidebar with the convert plug modal, Free Downloads Pages

but it does not seem to be showing up.

Have I done something wrong here?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! It seems that a 3rd party plugin, Restrict Widgets is causing the issue. Could you please disable this plugin? You could also try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the help!

I have deleted the restrict widgets plugin and I still cannot see the modal form.

I also have had this plugin activated when the forms were showing, so I am not sure if this plugin was causing the problem

I also deactivated all the third party plugins except the convert plug plugin and I still cannot see the form.

Help finding what is causing this problem would be appreciated!

Also, would updating the convert plug software have anyting to do with this?

Hi,

I would like to check but I am getting 504 error trying to access your site,

Please contact your host regarding this and let us know.

Thanks

Hey Paul! It should be working now. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi there,

It seems that there is a problem with the Plugin or the modal. I went to the modal settings and copied the shortcode which you can use as an inline element: [cp_modal display="inline" id="cp_id_9c5e1"][/cp_modal]

Then I added that in the Widgets area and it did not work, then I added a test page and added the code without Cornerstone and it is still not working.

I wanted to do another test but I can not as it seems your site is live. Would you please disable all the plugins including Cornerstone and only keep the ConvertPlus active and then change the theme from X to the default WordPress theme and check the test page to see if you can add the modal there or not?

If not then it should be the problem of the plugin itself. In that case, I will suggest that you downgrade the plugin version for testing.

Thank you.

Thanks for the help Christopher,

How would I be able to downgrade the plugin to test to see if it is the version.

Also, I don’t want to switch to the default wordpress theme as the site is live. Is there any other way to test the modal to see if it will work?

Thanks

Hi there,

We temporarily reverted back the new version to the previous one. So if you delete the ConvertPlus and then go to X > Overview and install the ConvertPlus again you will have the older version.

Thank you,

Okay, I have reverted back to the older version of Convert Plus, but still cannot see the modal form Tutorials Page on the Interviews sidebar on this page

Would the set up of the modal plugin be causing any issues?

Thanks for the help!

Hey There,

Your widget needs a title to display in the front end. I went ahead and added one. After I saved it, none of my changes reflects on the page. I did a little research and I found out that you are using SiteGround. Could you please clear your site cache or temporarily disable the supercacher in your hosting panel? The SuperCacher is developed by SiteGround exclusively for their customers. It increases the number of hits a site can handle and boosts the website loading speed. The SuperCacher includes 4 different caching options for maximum optimization of your websites. You can access the tool by clicking on the SuperCacher icon in your cPanel.

For more information about this, please check it out here: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/supercacher_intro.htm

Hope this helps.

Hey RueNel,

Thanks for all the help on this problem!

I have not had the supercacher activated on my site for months, so I don’t think this is what is causing the problem.

Should I try clearing my site cache with this supercacher?

Hey @dstro003,

I tested adding a widget and it displays so yes, it’s not caching. I deleted the widget afterwards.

Please backup your site and try uninstall ConvertPlus then install again via Pro > Overview. There was a bug recently with ConvertPlus 3.2.0 that has been patched. Maybe that will fix the issue.

I tested the patched version in my test site and it displays the modal in the widget area.

Thanks.

I have enabled the supercacher on my site and cached the site.

I then deleted the convert plus plugin and wen to Pro > Overview and installed the plugin again, but I think it installed version 3.2 again

The caching didn’t work and I am not sure how to install an earlier version of the plugin.

I have then turned of the supercacher in my hosting service siteground and still cannot see the modal form.

Help solving this problem would be greatly appreciated

Hello There,

Since we have tested the caching and still it does not work, this could be a potential bug with the ConvertPlus Widget. I will be forwarding this issue our developers so that they can communicate and discuss this with the creators of ConvertPlus plugins. A release update will be rolling out once they’ll have this figured out.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for your response

So there is no current solution for fixing this?

I am out of luck and won’t be able to collect email addresses with a form that I can style myself with a plugin that is included in x theme?

Are other users experiencing this problem?

How can I install an earlier version of this plugin? There is no option to install an earlier version.

Hey There,

ConvertPlus 3.2.0.1 is out. Please update to this version.

Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

Thanks for letting me know about the update!

I have just installed the update and still cannot see any of the modal forms.

Do you think that not having an updated connects is the problem?

Hi there,

I don’t think that is the problem. Actually I did a test and imported the same thing that you added and installed it on my local version. To my surprise even if I add the shortcode to show inline display it does not show. But I tested the default blank and the other First Order Modals which are the original ConvertPlus modals they did work:

So I suggest that you recreate the modals from scratch and using the new version. If that is not working for you I am honestly out of options here.

Thank you.

Okay thank you for the help Christopher!

I have just created a new modal and it works.

On behalf of my colleague, you’re welcome. Cheers!
