Modal Scrollbar Closes Modal When Clicked

This feels like a bug.

When you create a modal on a site that has content through which you can scroll, the scrollbar exists on the right as expected. However, if you click and drag that scrollbar to scroll through the content, it will close the modal.

I’m looking for a fix to this behavior so that users who can’t or don’t use trackpads or scroll wheels can scroll through modal content.

I checked it on my localhost test installation and it seems that the modal content is working fine on the scroll at my end. It might be the issue of the browser cache or a custom JS/CSS code issue. In order to help you with your concerns we need to check your settings I would request you, please share the admin login details meanwhile I would suggest you troubleshoot a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings. Please share your details in a secure note. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin-level username and password
  • Exact page URL

I have added a secure note to my original post.

Just to clarify, the content scrolls fine, but anytime I click on the scrollbar, or click and drag with the scrollbar, it will close the modal. However, if I have a smaller browser window, and I click followed by moving my cursor away from the browser, it will not close the modal.

I checked your given site URL it seems that the modal scroll is working fine on my end. It might be the issue with the browser cache I would suggest you please clear your browser cache and then check it again. I have tested it on the Google Chrome browser 109.0.5414.120 version.

Based on your video from the attached note, it doesn’t appear that you are understanding my issue. I can scroll through the modal just fine. If I use a mouse wheel, or the scrolling on a trackpad, everything works. The issue is when I use the physical scrollbar at the right side of the modal. If you click on that scrollbar, or click and drag that scrollbar to scroll, the modal will close.

I have clients who have accessibility issues, and they may only be able to scroll by clicking and dragging on a scrollbar. I am searching for a solution where this will not close the modal.

I was able to replicate the issue on my local testing server. This could be a bug or caused by a conflict. I will add this to our issue tracker lists so that our developers can investigate this issue further.
