Modal Form Showing Up Where It Is Not Supposed To

Hello support team,

The Convertplug Modal Popup, “Subscribe Free Downloads Page,” is only supposed to show up on the category posts in the photo, but it shows up on the Homepage of my site.

I would only like the modal popup to appear on the specific category posts and not the homepage of soundshockaudio.com.

How would I remove the modal popup from the homepage

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

What popup is displaying on your end? The Subscribe Free Downloads Page pop up contains Get Access Now! content, but the popup is displaying in your home page is the DOWNLOAD 6 FREE SAMPLE PACKS!!. Maybe it’s coming from a different popup, you have 6 pages of modal popups.

Thanks!

Hey Rad,

There are two pop ups on the homepage of soundshockaudio.com the pop up on post pages and subscribe free downloads page.

I have turned the subscribe free downloads page on and off and this is the form that should not be appearing on the homepage but it does. I have this subscribe free downloads page set to only specific post categories. Is there any way to only have it set to the post category posts that I have set in the target pages?

Hi There,

Thank you for detailed information. I can see the issue you were having. You have set up correctly.

First, I have add ! after text DON’T WORRY! to see if this is not a server related cache. It updates correctly and I put back as before.

Next thing I did is create the a modal on my test site with the same settings and enabling it only on product categories. It works as expected on my test site - showing on categories only and not on homepage.

Now, next thing to check if this is happening on any pages set as homepage on Settings > Reading. Please set any other page as homepage and then see if this modal is showing. It is best for you to do it since the site is live. If the same issue happens even if other page is set to homepage, try now to duplicate that specific modal and then set it to one page only. Let us know how this goes. Hope this helps.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I have set a new homepage in settings > Reading and the modal Subscribe Free Downloads Page does not show on the new homepage.

I have also duplicated the modal form which is called Subscribe Free Downloads Page_1 and set it to only one post category and the form did not show up on the homepage.

I then proceeded to add more post categories to the Enable Only On Then I checked to see if it showed up on the homepage and it did.

I then erased all the post categories in the Enable Only On and then started adding them one by one and checking to see if it showed up on the homepage.

On the 6th addition of a post category, the Subscribe Free Downloads Page_1 showed up on the homepage. I then took of the specific post category that caused it to show on the homepage, but the modal still showed up on the homepage.

I am not sure what is going on with the form.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I tried adding the Categories taxonomy to Enable Only On but it still shows up in the home page. This looks like a bug. But, to be sure, copy your site to a staging server and delete all your modals in there and only leave Subscribe Free Downloads Page_1 so we could focus on that module alone. We could also test freely in the staging site without third party plugins and customizations.

Thanks.

Hey Christian,

I am not sure how to load my site onto a staging server.

Is there another way to try and fix this issue?

Hi there, you can check this article on how to duplicate your website on a staging website.

This is most probably a bug in ConvertPlus. If that is the case the only thing we can do is to submit a support ticket to the developers of the ConvertPlus and ask them to fix the case.

But we should be sure this is isolated only for the ConvertPlus and not related to your environment. Having the tests on a live site is too risky and we will not do that. We need the staging website so that we can freely check things around and if we break something it will not hurt your business.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for the help christopher, but the article that you sent me is to an article not related to duplicating your website on a staging website.

Do you have any other resources that I can take a look at to accomplish this?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry about that.

You can use this third party plugin to create staging site.

Hope this helps
