Hi, so I am using optimised .mp4 videos as backgrounds to sections on the homepage of a site.

I have them set to loop. On a mobile (well at least an iPhone) everytime the video reaches the end it refreshes the page and loads the whole page again (and there is some text at the top of the white screen but I am never quick enough to see what it says lol)

Any thoughts please?

The issue you’re experiencing is likely due to the way iOS and some other mobile browsers handle background videos. These devices restrict autoplay for videos and manage memory and performance quite aggressively. As a result, large or high-resolution videos can sometimes cause the app or browser to crash or reload unexpectedly.

I recommend converting the video into a small, optimized GIF format image. Once optimized, you can use this GIF format image as your background image. This approach helps ensure better performance and faster loading times for your background.
