So at my site https://leahpresser.com if you go to it on mobile, you can’t click on “About” and go to my About page. You can’t click on “Services” and go to my Services page. I have subitems under both these menu items. It shows the subitems and you can click and go to the subitem pages. But I have a distinct About page and a distinct Services page that you should be able to click and go to. But you can’t do so on mobile. You can on desktop (last I checked). But not on mobile. There’s no plugin issues or anything like that. What’s wrong?

Hi RueNel — this worked swell. Except now you can’t get a submenu to appear on mobile. The icon indicating that there are subitems available appears. But when you tap it, you are directed to the main menu item’s page. This is better yes, but ideally, visitors would be able to use the mobile menu the same way desktop viewers can. What do you recommend to remedy this situation?

That setup is okay on the desktop since it has mouse hover functionality in which in touch devices doesn’t have. It’s like choosing one action at a time on touch devices, like what touch should it do, should it open the sub-menu or should it link it? And you’re only limited to one action for one touch.
Hence, if you wish to link it on mobile, the sub-indicator is just the alternative. So user could still click the menu and link it and also click the sub-indicator to open the sub-menu.
Clicking a menu item to link at the same time opening the sub-menu isn’t possible. Those are only options you could use, sub-indicator or anchor. Or perhaps, create another menu for mobile with no parent or subs, so they will appear as open by default and all items will link properly.

I hear you. That seems very odd that a mobile menu can only link to one page no matter how many sub-pages are listed below it. I’m surprised that everyone is fine with this. But what do I know? Not very much. Maybe this is par for the course. Anyway, thank you for the detailed response.
