Mobile menu not working on iPad

Hi,

Could you take a look at http://hartenkracht.nu on an iPad? I have a mobile menu active but it doesn’t respond to touch. It does work fine on an iPhone, just not on an iPad.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Have you tried clearing the plugin cache since you have installed WP Fastest Cache?
And also, please clear the browser cache as well or use private browsing mode and test the site again.

Hm, still doesn’t work as intended. When I hold the iPad in portrait mode it works. When the iPad is in landscape mode it doesn’t.

Hi there,

Actually, that is how X works. The threshold of the mobile menu is around 979px. Ipad is going under the threshold while in portrait mode and above it while in landscape mode.

So it is working as intended.

‘Working as intended’?! It’s not because now I have a non-working menu when viewing the site in landscape mode on iPad with no way of navigating.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I can see you have adjusted the mobile menu threshold to 1024px. I did a thorough check and found the issue happens on screen size 980 to 1024px screensize. The dropdown stop from showing. I am able to duplicate this on my test site. I will forward this to our developer for investigation. We will let you know once we have an update.

I am also having this problem on my iPad and iPhone. I have cleared the history and cache and it still doesn’t work in mobile mode.

Thanks for writing around! It looks like you’re using Jetpack plugin, please clear the plugin’s cache first and then try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins (including Jetpack), and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you for providing the URL. I checked your mobile menu on android device and iOS emulators and it is working fine on my end. Can you please let us know what issue you’re having exactly? I also tested on iPad emulators with different orientations and the menu is working as expected. Please let us know what exactly issue you’re facing so we can take a closer look. Maybe clearing your browser’s cache will help?
