Hi there, happy easter!
I’ve seen some topics, but can’t find my problem. The mobile menu is not collapsing.
- Xtheme up to date
- Plugins up to date
- removed cache
Could you please help out?
Tnx!

Hi @jolinekool,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked your setup and It’s still using the old version of X and Cornerstone. Please confirm that you are fully updated. You can find the latest version numbers here: (https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.
This could also be the cached content, please clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
If the problem persists then please check for the following too:
Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Remove custom CSS, JavaScript and deactivate your child theme and switch to parent theme (take a complete backup first).
Let us know how this goes!
Hi! Thank you for your reply.
I have everything updated: xtheme Version: 7.2.3, cornerstone Version 4.2.3. I’ve cleared all cache including browser cache, also on mobile, but the problem persists.
I’ve checked third party plugins, but the problem remains. I don’t want to deactivate the child theme & switch to parent theme yet: I’m not confident enough that I can replace the former website. I’ve created the backup. Could you help me?
Hey @jolinekool,
I rechecked you setup and I still see the old versions of X and Cornerstone being used on your site. This could be due to aggressive cache, did you deactivate the cache plugins and optimization services? Because I still see the content of your site is being served by the cache (hummingbird)
Deactivating the child theme and switching to parent won’t cause an issue, no setting or customization will be lost but this will test if the issue is caused by the customization you may have in the child theme.
If you’re uncomfortable working in the live environment, I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X or Pro updates in the staging area, do the customization and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/, https://maintainn.com/2015/02/how-to-create-a-staging-site-for-wordpress/
Taking a complete backup before any update is a best practice too so make sure to take a backup of your site first and then make sure to update both X and Cornerstone to avoid potential errors and conflicts, you can review our update guide.
If the problem remains then kindly get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your staging site using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.
Thank you!
Thank you, i’ve deleted Hummingbird fully and that did the trick!
Glad to hear it’s sorted, Joline.
