Mobile Anchor Links Stopped Working

Hello,

Site: www.caninekids.co.za

Problem: Anchor links stopped working on site after changing site to https from http on mobile.

Deactivated all plugins and cleared theme css and anchor links on mobile is not working, any ideas how to resolve this?

Hi @jolandimare,

Thanks for posting in.

Have you tried clearing your mobile browser’s cache? I just checked it and the mobile anchors are working fine, it’s linking and scrolling too.

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes did clear the cache and still not scrolling. Link is working, but not scrolling. Tested iphone and android, chrome browser and safari.

Hello There,

Please provide us access to your site so that we can take a closer look at your menu and other settings.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you, details in a secure note.

Hi Jolandi,

The not scrolling problem in the mobile menu is not related to HTTPS/SSL at all. Our theme default feature of the mobile menu does work and scrolls with no problem as you can see here:

http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/

The problem with your installation is that you added a custom code to force the mobile menu to stick to the top of the screen and that is causing the problem and forcing the menu to NOT scroll.

Please bring back the original feature of the theme which is to have NONE sticky mobile menu and it will scroll as you expect.

Customizations such as making the header sticky in the mobile view is outside of our support scope and whatever side effect the custom code might cause will not be under our responsibility to fix.

Thank you for your understanding.

Are you referring to the custom js code added to the site?

Hi there,

It is both the JS code and CSS code which you added in X > Theme Options > CSS/JS.

Thank you.

Ok, so removed it and tested, seems to be working to some degree. If you click through from the home page to sleep overs it does not scroll on mobile, if you click on an anchor while on the actual page(vs being redirected from another page) then the scrolling works on mobile?

Correction, removed all of it, js and css and still not working?

Hi there,

You mean by linking from home page to another page it should trigger the scroll? It’s not really not going to work. One page navigation only works on its current page (hence one page). You’re simply linking the page to another page, and it will just load it.

Scrolling through inter-page navigation is non-existing feature. Some achieve it through custom coding.

Thanks!

Anchor links are universal and not considered custom code. If you link to an anchor on a different page, it should scroll to that section, mobile or desktop, see this around the internet everyday, so I’m not sure you understand the problem here?

Hi @jolandimare

I understand your point and I know how this might let you feel a little bit confused, anchor links are not considered custom code of course, it’s only this part as mentioned by Rad that isn’t fully supported for now:

Scrolling through inter-page navigation is non-existing feature.

I’ll make sure to pass on your feedback regarding this feature to our dev team.

Thanks.
