Missing setting in Envira Gallery

Hi there

I have a weird little problem with my envira galleries. Since updating WP and Cornerstone/X in the past few days I noticed that my previously sorted galleries (by caption) were no longer displaying in order. I checked the galleries and found that the sorting options dropdown is completely missing. I reinstalled the plug in from the original one bundled with X - that fixed the sorting menu but then the option to display caption or title was missing instead. (That’s even worse in my case than losing the sorting). I have a lot of info in these 180+ galleries - custom urls and so on, that I definitely do not want to risk losing by messing with it too much - it will be better to sit and go through them and order them manually. So I restored entire site from back up and went back to the original problem.

I’ve gone through the process of disabling all plug ins to see if I could get it to show but no luck.

Maybe you can help me identify the problem.

They should be displaying in size order and were previously.

I’m running Envira 1.7.1 on latest WP, X child theme and Cornerstone.

Thanks for writing in.

Do you have a live backup of your site? I like to see how it works and displayed before, I may able to see the see upon comparing. Right now, it works okay and there is no error but I can’t tell how it’s supposed to be.

I don’t have anywhere to stage a backup - don’t think there is one that is showing the problem. Or am I misunderstanding you?

I’ve got a memory error showing in a debug log - something is trying to set the memory limit but it’s already set. Log attached in private note.

Hi there,

Those notices have no relation with the main issue, they aren’t errors. You only misplaced and added multiple instances of memory limit configuration.

Instead, do you have a screenshot of how it was before? I just need some comparison since there is nothing wrong with the codes.

OK, here’s 4 screenshots attached (hope this helps!!)

(note these two images are from different pages which have different types of rings - it’s the captions and the order we are looking at). the pink ones are correct, the blue ones are the problem i have now.

Hello There,

I have tested this feature settings in my local test server and it is working for me. I can sort the images like what I wanted. I can sort manually or filename. It just simply works.

Looking back to your site, I noticed that you are using CloudFlare. You might not be seeing any changes because of a caching issue. Please login to your CloudFlare account and purger your site. Please also clear your browser cache or use private browsing mode and test again.

Hi there, thanks for your help.

I purged cloudflare, ran cc cleaner and opened in incognito browsing.

And - now I’m seeing what looks like a new version of Envira which has the sorting options in a different place. I think I’ll be able to use Envira Defaults to fix them all now. Many thanks, hadn’t thought of Cloudflare.
