Missing Alt Tags in Essential Grid

I created a portfolio grid with Essential Grid. The images are the featured image and clicking on them opens the native WP galleries from the post content in a lightbox.

All the images have alt tags set. The main image is a background image, so I understand there is no alt tag on that one. However, the lightbox galleries don’t have alt tags either. We’ve spent a lot of time writing SEO alt tags for all these and I really need these to show.

Is this a limitation of Essential Grid? A bug? Wrong settings?

Thanks for reaching out.
Essential Grid is to show the images with the different options, it does not provide an option to add any information to any images. To add Alternative Text to any uploaded image in WordPress, please go to the Media menu and edit the specific media element to add the Alternative Text.
