Menus have disappeared in update

I use X with a child-X

In the latest update I appear to have lost the menu items when PC & mobile users access the site, even though they are unchanged behind in the dashboard in the customisation menu.

I have done the following

Ensured everything is up to date according to the new X version. I updated my plugins.

I went to X > Settings and clicked on the Clear Style Cache button.

I do not use a CDN.

I tested for a plugin conflict by deactivating all third-party plugins, but the problem remained.

I could not find any problem CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme that interfered with the menus, though I have not changed to a new child-theme

I reset my htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak, then saved my Permalinks to create a new one.

Any ideas?

It seems like you customized some templates by using the child theme. Is it _post-carousel.php?
