Menu with a lot of submenu items

Hello, I trust you’re doing well.

We are working on a site that will have several “sub-menu items”… 4 main Menu items, and then around 30 sub-menu items for each of those 4 main menu items.

We’re using Posts rather than Pages… we’re wondering if there’s a way to automatically add each new post to its corresponding menu (as they’re created), rather than having to go back and manually doing it?

Thanks for writing in!

  • First, you will have to create the necessary Categories under Posts > Categories.

  • Next, under Appearance > Menus select the Categories and click Add To Menu.

  • After that create posts. Now make sure to assign the post to relevant categories. Over here you are selecting the categories that you have added as menu item.

Is there any way that new posts get automatically added to a menu? Or can they only be added manually?

Hey @Jacko_Pinto,

If you go to Appearance > Menus there is an option for automatically adding top level pages to the menu (see screenshot) but for the posts you need to do it manually
