Menu not as page or link only for dropdown

HI X Team,

Can I make a Menu item that is not a page or custom link?
I just want to menu name to function for the the dropdown/subitems options to choose a link.

Hey @smart_x,

Regretfully, there’s no option for that in WordPress. A quick trick to achieve this though would be to leave the Custom Link URL empty.

It will leave an unset anchor tag though which will fail HTML validation. If that is important to you, you will need to consult with a third party developer for a custom JavaScript.
