Menu and Category related questions

Hi, I have 2 questions:

1. How do I create a parent menu that doesn’t link to anything & would just function as a drop-down menu? Please see an example from https://thehometheaterdiy.com/ and notice the TOPICS menu as an example.
   I tried doing this but the XTheme wouldn’t allow me to finish creating the menu if I don’t put a link.
   

2. The second question is about categories. Usually, the theme would arrange the blog posts according to categories in alphabetical order. Is there a way to arrange the categories the way I want it? If so, how? I wouldn’t mind referring me to a link with instructions on exactly how to do this.

Please add javascript:void(0); in the URL field of the menu item that you do not want to be linked.
