I want to keep the design of my navbar as it is now, but I want to add support for multi-column mega menus. It sounds like Max Mega Menu is not compatible with custom headers, and UberMenu has a very distinct look that’s harder to match to my theme. Are there other options that will work?

Max Mega Menu plugin is not supported in Pro theme. You can use uberMenu plugin instead. You will just have to modify and tweak the Ubermemu settings so that it will match with your header.
