Mega Menu Closes Before Being Able to Click

Hey Themeco Team,

I have an issue with the Mega Menu Dropdown element on my website. I’m running WordPress 6.4.2 and Pro 6.4.6. Link in the secure note; I can provide credentials for the staging site if needed.

When opening the mega menu, the menu closes when trying to click on one of the navigation items. For example, opening the mega menu > clicking winter > and then clicking “Varsity” under “Basketball.” The behavior started occurring recently (i.e., it did not do this when we launched the new site in August), although I cannot pinpoint whether it was caused by 6.4.6. You can click the item when trying a second time, but it yields a finicky user experience.

Any ideas? Happy to provide a Loom, too. I tested on both a Mac and a PC.

Additionally, on tablet, clicking the tabs (e.g., Winter) closes the mega menu. It does not switch to that tab.

Additional update, I had an ID of “mega-menu” in the root Mega Menu Dropdown element. When I removed the ID, the element started working correctly again. I wonder if the ID was in conflict with something else in the theme’s code.

Thanks for the very detailed post. Please make sure that when you insert an ID mega-menu, there should not be any duplicates. The element ID must be unique.
