MEC Supported on Cornerstone X Pro?

I recently added MEC to a project and was frustrated by the apparent lack of support to design / manage event pages, content, single and archive pages for the events. Now I am seeing security issues that make me wonder why I would deploy this in the first place.

I reached out to the vendor to try and get some answers to the above and was told:

Hello,

We are not familiar with the facilities and features that Themeco offers, which is why I suggested you reach out to Themeco support for assistance.
Customizing MEC, including the single event page and shortcodes, depends on the page builder you are using. From what I understand, Themeco uses Cornerstone as its page builder, and MEC currently does not integrate with Cornerstone.

If you are using Elementor as your page builder, you can utilize the “Elementor Single Builder Addon” to design and build the single event page, as well as the “Elementor Shortcode Builder” and “Elementor Shortcode Designer” addons for creating and customizing shortcodes in MEC. Additionally, the “Gutenberg Single Builder Addon” is available for customizing the single event page.

If you are not using Elementor or Gutenberg, customization options are limited, and you will need to rely on the default styles provided by MEC for single event pages and shortcodes.

Best Regards

I did see some updates for both the security concerns and adding the MEC so it is supported by Cornerstone, but since I needed to move on I have not yet attempted or applied these as yet.

My question for an upcoming effort are:

  • do we need to purchase an MEC license to enable the full product?
  • is MEC fully supported? (are there any links, videos, etc.)
  • is there another preferred “Events” manager supported by the theme?
  • is there any documentation for creating security to protect MEC payment options?

thanks!

  1. No it’s included with X and Pro
  2. Currently you can’t have an archive or single layouts for Events. We’re planning on supporting this in Pro 6.6, but holding off till then as it’ll most likely change sites that were assigning layouts to “All Singular”. The default MEC layouts look pretty nice.
  3. Most of them will probably work fine, but MEC is the only we support or integrate with.
  4. I’m not sure what you mean here, but it sounds something you should refer the MEC Docs. Most users use WooCommerce for the payment portion of MEC. If you go into more detail we can help you out here.

Have a great weekend.
