MEC Events register button issue

Hi Guys!

I’m out of options here. The MEC subscribe form is supposed to work in two steps. The first step loads in the modal, but moving to the second step removes the modal, so the registration cannot be completed.

An example and the login are in the private note.

Can you help me with this?

I tested MEC in my test sites and the modal doesn’t close and I was able to checkout successfully. I tested version 5.2.0 and the latest bundled version. X, Cornerstone and Pro are also up to date in my sites.

I see you’re using 5.3.0 so it could be that this is a bug in that version. Please deactivate MEC and update it to 5.4.0 and see if the issue will persist. If it will persist, it could be coming from a 3rd party plugin or your child theme so be sure to test them too or perform the basic troubleshooting steps listed in our Common Issues article to ensure that this is not an issue with MEC nor with our theme.

Thanks. Not sure what you mean by “Deactivate and update…” It is bundled with Pro. There is a way to update it before you release the new version?

Hi @Misho,

MEC compatible version is 5.4. You can automatically update the plugin. Please note to always save a backup of your site before any update. Let us know how this goes.

I didn’t realize I have to deactivate and delete the plugin, and install it again from the validation screen. This was the only way to do update it. The issue is still present, but If you say that it works on your test site, then I’ll continue troubleshooting.

it was a plugin-conflict in the end. Some anti-spam plugin I usually don’t use. I thought I did the plugin-conflict test before contacting you. Not sure anymore.
