Is it possible to have 2 independent MEC calendars for the same web site. For example 1 calendar would show general club events and the other calendar would show event bookings.

There is no option to create multiple independent calendars. One way to achieve something similar of what you are describing would be to use different Categories to filter certain events and display them on different pages. Let me know if that helps!
