Map Showing "For development purposes only"

Dear X Team!

Even after reading all other posts I am still unable to solve my problem with google maps.

  1. Problem: On my website the Google Maps Plugin ist showing the error message "“For development purposes only”. The API should be correct.

  2. Problem: I was unable to generate a marker for the destination I want to choose on the map.

Can you help?

Best regards from Vienna!

Hello Nino,

Thanks for writing in!

Upon checking the website and dev tools I see following error message.

You have exceeded your request quota for this API.

Basically you need to activate billing on your account. For more information, please refer following post:

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages?utm_source=maps_js&utm_medium=degraded&utm_campaign=billing#api-key-and-billing-errors

For second question, can you please share the site login details. I tried entering the shared credentials but it’s not working.

Thanks.

Hi!

Thank you for the fast response and answer! Now it is working. :slight_smile:slight_smile:
The added login-data should work from the first posting.

New questions appeared:
How ist it possible to use the google maps also for starting a navigation?
How can i set up a changing possibility of the viewing area? So allowing to zoom and navigate?

Thank you very much!
Good evening!

Hello Nino,

How ist it possible to use the google maps also for starting a navigation?

  • Can you please clarify further?

How can i set up a changing possibility of the viewing area? So allowing to zoom and navigate?

  • Yes, please enable the zoom control and draggable option.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the perfect support!
Now everything is nearly as i wanted.

I will clarify my question “How ist it possible to use the google maps also for starting a navigation?” further:
Is there an option I can choose so that the website-visitor can use the map as a start for a navigation?
Because there is no “navigate to” button or anything similar.

Thank you very much!
Good evening!

Hey Nino,

Regretfully, there’s no option to use the map as a start for a navigation. You would need to hire a web developer to create the function for you.

Thanks.

Thank you for your response!

Best regards!

You are most welcome.
