Mailchimp opt in not appearing on checkout page

Hi,

My Mailchimp opt-in is not showing on my checkout page. It was there this morning and now it’s gone and I haven’t changed anything. I’ve tried re-syncing the connection, but it didn’t help. Can you please help? I’ve been working on this project for months and was finishing up testing and supposed to launch the day after tomorrow and I don’t want this to hold me up (it plays into the email automation).

Thank you!!

Ashley

Hey Ashley,

Please first let me clarify that the Mailchimp optin you’re referring to is not our product and we do not have support for third party plugins.

But, we would like to know if Pro or one of our bundled plugins is causing the issue in your site. With that said, please do the following tests and take note of the results for each test.

  1. Switch to the parent Pro theme. This will quickly tell you if there’s a custom code in the child theme is causing the issue. If this is the case, please contact a third party developer to fix the custom code.
  2. Deactivate all third party plugins except WooCommerce and your Mailchimp plugin. Note the result of this test.
  3. Switch to the default WordPress theme. If the issue persists in this test, please contact the third party Mailchimp plugin support.

If the issue persists with the parent Pro theme and there are no third party plugins, I’d recommend that you restore a working backup of your site so we could see where in the checkout page the Mailchimp form displays in the checkout page.

Also copy the working live site to a staging server so we could investigate without affecting your live site. We would need to gather information for our developers in this case.

Thanks.

I totally understand ya’ll don’t support 3rd party plugins, but submitted for all of the other reasons you listed.

I have updated my staging site with the current issue. I tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin. When I went to reenter the API key, I got this error message:

Mailchimp says: API Request Error - admin-ajax.php seems to be disabled on this wordpress site. Please enable to sync data.

As that was my first point of testing, I haven’t been able to do any of the other items that you list above.

Any ideas on the error message?

Hi Ashley,

The subscribe option is actually there.

Can you test it while not login? I’m not familiar with this plugin, but it seems the subscribe option won’t show up if the account associated with an email that is already subscribed.

Regarding the error on staging, you might have the same issue as here.

Thanks,

Ugh, it would be something that dumb. Thanks for your help with the checkbox.

Unfortunately the php error is happening on my live site, not in staging, so that doesn’t solve that problem.

Hey Ashley,

I have just checked your live site but I am not seeing the error that you indicated in the previous screenshot:

Kindly let us know in case you are still having any issue.

Thank you.
