M.E. Calendar problem with recurring events

Hi there,

I set up my M.E. Calendar as a workshop calendar, so one workshop with recurring events. In the grid, the dates and workshops are shown correctly but if I click a recurring event, it shows the date of the first workshop in the list. Example: I planned my first workshop for xth June 2020 and the next for xth July 2020. When I click on the July workshop, in the single event page it shows June 2020… You can check at www.martinziaja.de/kalender

Any help would be appreciated! I could post a new workshop each but then I wouldn’t understand what recurring events are for…

Thanks in advance
Martin

Hey Martin,

I believe it’s only natural that the next date which is the first one in the grid will be shown on the event page. There’s no way to show the next future date unless the event has passed. If you need to display the other dates, you need to set up another shortcode and post it on the single event page.

Hope that helps.

Hi Christian,
sorry, I think you got me wrong: at the single event pages it always shows the first date of the event - even when it’s expired… So my workshop begins - say - June 30th. But on the event page it shows - say - May 13th (because that was the first workshop of this kind). Do I have to set up a new event for each workshop? If so, I don’t understand the concept of recurring events…

Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin,

Thank you for the clarification, on the M.E. Calendar > Settings > General Options set the Multiple Day Events option to Show only first day on all skin

More details here.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hi Friech,
thanks for you reply. No, it always shows in the single event view the date of the first workshop in the list. I figure I have to set up a new workshop for each date then… pitty.

Thanks anyway
Martin

Sorry, again me, Friech - I just figured it out: you have to set the date method at “referred date” - then it works! (M.E. Calendar > Settings > Single Event > Single Event page)

Thanks again
Martin

Glad it’s working now and thanks for sharing!
