Lost custom styling to menu menu navigation

Hello, back in March, I lost the custom CSS that I had worked SOOOO hard on. I had built the site using the first version of Pro so was using classic. I was working in the Header area, but when I tried adding some social media icons to the top strip of the Header, somehow it erased my original styling, even though I never even touched the Save button! That is terrible how the UI autosaves, because it over-writes changes that I never even asked for!

I wrote in about this earlier but didn’t get satisfactory reply. I later remembered that luckily, I have a dev version that shows the correct menu styling: http://terracana.priscillathen.com/

You’ll see that the CSS has changed significantly. I cannot just migrate the old site, because too many content changes were made to the new site in the last 6 months since it was launched. I really think that there was a bug in the new Pro Theme, as changes should never happen unless they are confirmed. I swear I never touched anything!

How can I bring the original code back? Please help.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! I have investigated your case and I found out that your dev site is using the default header while your production site is using a custom header. Please understand that the custom header will not use any of the default navbar styling. You will have to edit your custom header and set the navigation inline styling to look like it is a default navbar styling.

If you remove or un-assign any of your custom header in the production site, you can have the same setting that you wanted for your menu just like what you have in your dev site.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m glad that you were able to identify the problem. I think that my dev site is using the Original Headers (not default header, because I actually customized the default header a LOT). The production site is using the new Pro Header, am I right?

I don’t want to have to restyle the Pro Header in the same way as I did for the Classic Header.
What is the best way to revert back to the Classic Header? Below is a screen shot of the production site (while hovering mouse over the “Delete” btn) – do I just have to press “Delete”? I’d like to confirm this before trying out to make sure I don’t use the whole header altogether.

Hello There,

If you want to use the default header, simply select the custom header and un-assign it. Right now, based in your screenshot, the custom header is assigned to display in all pages. You can un assign it by deselecting the pages in the right side of the builder.

I looked at the items in the right column, and all the circle icons are in medium grey – I’m assuming that grey means it’s inactive? When I hover over it, it becomes black. Clicking on it turns it blue, so I assume that it means it’s active (and clicking again changes it to red, which means making it inactive)?

It’s still not helping, as right now all the items in the right column are in grey. Also, the Header which I’ve named “Main Nav” already says that it’s unassigned. If it’s already unassigned, then why can’t I get my original menu styling back (as in the dev version)? Below is a screen capture from the production site:

Your live site is already using the default header. Please see the screenshot in the secure note.

I would recommend that you clear your browser cache or use private browsing mode and test your site again.
