Lost Content after Activate Cornerstone

Hi,

After I activate my cornerstone plugin all my contents are not showing in website. But can be seen in edit page visual and text tab. Tried update button, not working. May I know how to restore back the page content?

Hey Kenny,

I checked the site in your Themeco Dashboard and it looks like the content exists.

Would you mind clarifying what is lost? And, by “activate” I believe you meant clicking the “Edit with Cornerstone” button because that’s the only instance your content would be overridden.

If you have content created using the WordPress Editor or any editor and you clicked Edit with Cornerstone, Cornerstone will take over or override your content. You need to recreate your content in Cornerstone because otherwise, your page would display nothing.

By the way, it is impossible for Cornerstone to wipe out all contents of your site simply by activating the Cornerstone plugin.

If you still have the content like shown in the screenshot below, just update your page to let the WordPress Editor take over. T

The WordPress Editor and Cornerstone are not backwards compatible.

Thank you for explain in such details!

I am doing migration from an existing website, and the previous website was using Cornerstone too.

I more prefer Wordpress dashboard to create pages. This is what I mean “Visual” and “Text” tab.

When I click cornerstone tab.

Since I still want to keep current content, so I choose “NO, TAKE ME BACK”.

and click “Update”. Here is what I saw in my page.

So I wonder where can restore or update my content ？Please assist, thanks a lot！

It seems that the existing Cornerstone content has been modified in the Block editor and that is the cause of the issue. Regretfully, the content added through the Cornerstone editor is not editable in the Block or Gutenberg editor, and vise-versa. That’s why the edited content is not showing in the Cornerstone.
I would suggest you restore it from your backup or you need to create it from scratch.
