Looper Page Builder: How to have post category appear over featured image on Blog Archive Page

I’m new to this and watched videos on Loopers and Layout Builder. I have Pro with Ethos. I want my blog archive page, built using Layout Builder archive to include a post’s featured image with title beneath and one category for that specific post to appear over the featured image in a white box, as seen below. I have no idea how to add the category (just one, even if a post qualifies as relevant to several categories), as seen below. https://jennakutcherblog.com/

Even if I edited each blog post to only fit one category, I don’t know how to make the category appear using the Layout Builder. Please advise, and thank you.

Hi @kleins99,

Thank you for writing in, there is a pre-made element named Meta Line in the builder, place that above your feature image.

Inside that Meta Line element, there are date, author, comments, and terms. The terms are the categories you can delete the others and leave only the terms.

Then since that is already inside a div element. You can position that to absolute so it will layer above the feature image.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Thank you, I will work on this. Wondering how do I make all featured images (whether they are vertical or horizontal in original post) appear to be cropped as the same size?

Hi @kleins99,

You can specify the Width and Height of the Featured Image, please find the screenshot describing the settings.

Hope it helps.
Thanks
