Looper JSON Image / Retina

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a project where I work a lot of with loopers, json and API, which is great, learned a lot!

I noticed, when I add image via JSON and add path as a field to an image, it doesn’t work exactly the same as when you add image manually, with the Retina icon. Is there any way / workaround or is it a bug perhaps?

So for example, if your image is 400px x 400px when uploading manually, with retina icon toggled on, it will be reduced to 200x200. But when path is assigned via loopers and fields, it’s displaying image as it is which is 400x400 and its blurry on Retina displays.
