Looper "All Terms" parameter breaks when changing a taxonomy slug: user error, or bug?

Hello!

I’ve found a problem when I target categories using the “All Terms” parameter for a Looper Provider and later change a category’s URL slug. When this happens, the loop seems to break or return {null}.

I’m curious how to fix this issue!

On the theory side of things for my understanding… if I had to guess, I’d say this is related to the database table retaining an orphaned relationship?

Hey @Rule72,

I tested your claim on my site and I couldn’t replicate the issue. I used the Terms Cloud element that’s using the All Terms Looper Provider. I then changed one category slug and the link works with the updated slug.

There must be something causing the issue only on your site so I’d suggest that you perform all of the troubleshooting steps below.

  1. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  2. Theme Update
  3. Child Theme
  4. Disabling Cache
  5. Disabling Cdn
  6. Permalinks

Let us know if one of the steps works.

Thanks.

Will do! It figures that there will be a damned cache issue somewhere. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dropping screenshots for a visual reference for now, will confirm if I resolve it later.

Hello @Rule72,

After changing the category slug, you may need to clear all your caches first before you test the site again.

Cheers.

I’ve followed all steps here to the T… twice, as well as restarted the server and did some database cleanup but the issue still persists. It’s been there consistently as well for this site build/section, not an intermittent issue.

For now though, it looks like I’ll need to #stopwork on dynamics and build this part in a static format to hit launch timelines (this Friday lol) – I’ll likely continue troubleshooting on my own and pop in once, in about 8 days to keep the thread open.

Thanks for your patience!

Hey @Rule72,

Great and let us know how it goes.

Thank you.
