Looking for advice

Please let me know if this is outside of support parameters, but am looking for some advice.

I am creating a section of a web site that details the history of a building. There will be about 30/40 posts contains text and pictures, and I want to create an index/menu list for user to select which post they wish to read. I have created an index sidebar and by using a widget element I get a well formatted list but this takes up valuable space on the page, and I am looking to try and have the index almost as a pop-up from which the user can select from…

I would be grateful to have any suggestions as to what would be considered the best/easiest way to do this. I was considering using a Content Off Canvas element, but not sure if you can add an element to this.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Hello Alex,

Thanks for writing in!

Yes, you are on the right track. You can make us of the Content Off Canvas element. By default, you will need to add custom codes to it. In your case, I would highly recommend that you go to X/Pro > Global Blocks. Create a global block and then add your elements like the widget element if you wish to use the recent post widget to display the list of post items. Once you are done creating your global block, take note of the global block shortcode and that will be inserted in your content off canvas element.

1.) Global Block:

2.) Copy the shortcode and insert it your content off canvas element:

Hope this helps.

Brilliant !! Very many thanks for the advice, much appreciated
