Logins erasing Content

*this topic was opened, but I encountered a health issue and was unable to reply before the content was closed. Re-opening.

@Ishmael replied previously to the note asking for a text page & logins, will add these now on a secure note.

Hi, we are encountering an issue where if any user account on the website with less than Super Admin privileges (e.g. Administrator, Editor) edits something in cornerstone (for example a component or menu), upon clicking “save” the entire content is erased.
When editing imags or text on a page in cornerstone the accounts seem alright, however this is making us understandably nervous as anything previously that has been erased has been erased instantly in all languages and has been unrecoverable.

This is occurring on four of of our sites
mylifehouse.com/tokyowest, mylifehouse.com/yokohama, mylifehouse.com/sendai, mylifehouse.com/fukuoka. Progressively this is occuring on more and more of our sites.

Please see a demonstration of the issue here: https://www.loom.com/share/e9b9e6cabc3f4a9188916da9a9b8f45e

Kind Regards,

Hey @lifehouseglobal,

I could not replicate the issue on my end using the provided log in details that you said that it does not work.

  • See the series of screenshots in the secure note below to see that I have saved the Section with no issues.

Thanks.

Hi @ruenel thank you for looking into this. Did you try updating the order of the tab section inside the component as shown in the screen recording to replicate the issue? We are having this issue specifically with things inside components, for example the tab section inside components, the menu built inside cornerstone (another component) etc.

Hi @lifehouseglobal,

I also checked and changed the Tabs positions using both the user credentials, and found the changes are reflecting in the frontend. Can you please provide any screen-casting video that helps us to recognize the problem you are trying to point out?

Thanks

Hi @tristup, there is a screen casting video included in the original message. I will re-share the link here for your convenience.

This issue is occurring across at least 5-6 users, on different campus sites within our network, each using different computers, browsers & physical locations.

We have been experiencing this issue at least since November last year. And it is getting progressively worse with additional users contacting us every few weeks with the same issue.

Hey @lifehouseglobal,

This possibly has to do with WordPress unfiltered_html feature. It has to be enabled for non-Super Admins. Please try enabling that feature (see https://publishpress.com/blog/unfiltered-html-permission-wordpress/).

Thank you. I will test this on Monday so as to have no impact to events over this weekend.

Something to note, since your team accessed the tokyo west website, the issue has resolved. However on other websites (e.g. Fukuoka), the issue still occurs.

Did you change, edit or update any other settings?

Hey @lifehouseglobal,

You’re welcome. Let us know how it goes.

Nope.
