Login page header and footer

Hi there

We are running a multisite with buddypress installed.

We dont want users who register for the website to see the header or footer of the main site (its a multisite and they are all specifically different in specific ways).

Removing the header and footer of JUST the registration user page would solve this issue ,but i am not able to do that from the dashboard…

any suggestions welcome! thank you

Hello Carlos,

Thanks for writing in!

The header and footer of the site will display on the site only. Even if you have a multi site, the header and footer will only display which site you have installed it. I am just not sure which registration page it is. If you can provide a URL so that we can check it. By the way, it is best that you use a better user management plugin. This link might help you:

Hi there

thanks for the reply

So, our main site is www.vsmeinc.com (this website is for grappling events)

Using multisite, we have now made a second site, which is www.vsmeinc.com/e-sports

When people on the esports site and press create account, they are redirected to the main user registration page, from the main site netwrok. That registraion page has the header and footer fo the vsmeinc.com website, and not the headr and footer from the vsmeinc.com/e-sports website. ive attached a screenshot.

We would liek to keep the page from the screenshot as is, just without showing the header as you can see here

Hi Carlos,

Sorry but that is not possible, if we hide the header on (https://vsmeinc.com/registration/) then that simply means we are hiding the header for the grappling site.

The e-sport (https://vsmeinc.com/e-sports/) should have its own registration page /e-sports/registration, right now the “Create Account” menu of e-sport is just linked here (https://vsmeinc.com/registration/) which is the registration of grappling. Please clarify.

Thanks,

Hi Friech

Thanks for the email.

Unfortunately it does not have its own registration page. On wordpress, multisites use only one registration page and it has one user database (to my understanding). So even when people on the esport website click to register, it redirects to th eoriginl.

Unless i am mistaken here. https://vsmeinc.com/e-sports/registration/ doesnt lead anywhere.

When you click on ‘log in’ from the esports, page, it correctly takes me to the ESPORTS version of the login page (https://vsmeinc.com/e-sports/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fvsmeinc.com%2Fe-sports%2Fregistration%2F)

I can use my credentials to log in and it works great. but if IN THIS PAGE, i click on register, it takes me to the grppling registration page. Again, because its a multisite.

Is there a workaround?

Hello Carlos,

The most important concept to keep in mind when thinking about Multisite’s management of users is that all users are members of the network, not a particular site.

When the user completes the registration process, they are “network subscribers” and have no actual role on any site… not even a default role.

Regretfully, your particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer should you not feel comfortable making these changes yourself. If you have any further questions about the theme, we are more than happy to provide you with assistance on these inquiries.

For the meantime, if you want that the users of vsmeinc.com/e-sports will just be on this site, then you will need to have this site on a separate and independent WP install.

Thank you for your understanding.

no problem thank you

You’re most welcome, Carlos.
