Local host will not restore

I made an export of my online website named onestopwebsite.website using All In One WP Migration. When I try to import this into the website on my localhost, it starts to proceed normally. However, it does not process more than 69% of the import. When it gets to 69%, it appears to keep processing normally. There are no error messages. However, it never gets past the 69%. I have tried this several times. I have let it process as long as nine hours. After nine hours it still looks like it is processing normally but still says 69% complete.

I would appreciate any insight you could provide or if you can direct me to where I should start looking for a solution,

Thank you
Bill

Hi Bill,

You might have limited resources in your computer, try to increase the following in your php.ini file

memory_limit
upload_max_size
post_max_size
upload_max_filesize
max_execution_time
max_input_time

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply Paul
I made the changes you recommended but it is still the same.
After it says “preparing to restore” and I click Continue it seems to process normally until it gets to 69%. At that point it seems to continue to process normally but does not progress further than 69%

Again, there are no error messages or any other signs that it is not processing normally except that it does not go beyond 69%

I have used this same procedure in the past and it has been fine. I am wondering if any of the theme updates could have affected this.

I would appreciate any other thoughts you have

Thank you
Bill

Hi Bill,

I’m not sure the size of your live site’s file system and your database but if it took 9 hours, it’s quite unusual. Could you please try following our migration guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-migration/126) and see whether you can migrate your site.

If you’re still encountering any issues, you may have to contact your hosting provider to get more information.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

No. It did not take nine hours. It got to 69% in a few minutes. However, it did not go any further. It stayed at 69% and did not go further. I stopped it after nine hours just to make sure it was permanently stuck at 69%
Thanks
Bill

Hello
You recommended to use the migration link to cornerstone to migrate the database.
I want to migrate everything, not just the database which is one reason I am using All In One WP Migration
Bill

Hi There,

Please try with the Duplicator Pro plugin: https://snapcreek.com/

Or Blogvault service: https://blogvault.net/.

Hope it helps

Thanks for the post. However, the following Knowledge Base article exactly describes my problem. I am just not sure what is is saying to do. I am trying to figure it out. I think trying your recommendation will be spinning my wheels until I figure this out.

Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill,

The link I provided above with related to Cornerstone migration also includes links on how to migrate your WordPress files.

This article won’t cover completely moving all site content, but here’s some great articles on complete site migration.
Moving WordPress (WordPress.org Codex)
Step by Step guide to moving WordPress to a new domain (WPMU DEV)
How to transfer WordPress (Siteground)

Since your issue is not related to X/Pro or Cornerstone plugin and, as you don’t have experience on migrating sites, I would suggest you to contact a developer or a service to assist you on this issue.

Thanks!

Thanks for your message.
actually, I have considerable experience moving sites.
I have performed the restore I am trying to do hundreds of times on various sites. Actually, the Themeco url that I posted recommends All In One WP Migration to do this.
Themeco indicates the problem is with the vversion of PHP.

I installed Xampp v. 5.6 as a second installl but am unable to get it to work.
Do you have any suggestions on the php or xamppp problem?
Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill,

Please install this plugin and check if the changes you made in your php.ini file reflects in your wordpress dashboard.

So if you set memory limit to 256M in php ini, it should show 256M on that plugin

With regards to migration plugin, If all in one migration doesn’t work I suggest you try other plugins

Thanks

Thanks for trying but the Themeforest article is correct. this is due to a difference in the php versions

I changed the php version on my host’s server and it now works fine.

Thank you for your help
Bill

You’re most welcome and thanks for sharing. Sorry of we can’t help further as All in one migration plugin is a 3rd party in which we can’t cover. It’s only recommended for migration but it could fail and it’s best to contact the plugin author too. And glad it’s working now. Cheers!
