Load more for Loopers - update please

Hello ,

I am planning to use the Looper feature to create a fully customized Portfolio page. My client requests a “Load More” button instead of a traditional pagination.
Before starting the implementation, I would like to understand if the “Load More” feature is supported by Loopers . I found in the Forum ( Load More for Loopers) that it was not but the question/answer is more than a year old and I wonder if the feature has been added OR is scheduled for a future release. I would prefer to develop using Looper than to depend on an external plugin, as suggested in the answer.

Can you please clarify?
Thank you. – Lise

Hi @FluentStreamMarketing,

The Looper Provider fetch and shows the data at a time while loading the page. The Load More shows the data without reloading the page and that is why it can’t be implemented using the Looper Provider.

Hope I am able to clarify it.
Thanks

Hi ,
Thank you for your reply. So it looks as if the Looper Provider is a way to build and execute one (possibly complex) query string and display the results . Correct?
Do you offer out-of-the-box filtering mechanisms (on the uploaded data) or must these be developed out of the Looper? I am thinking of the usual filters on category or year for example.

Thank you – Lise

Hello @FluentStreamMarketing,

In case you want to display the post filter by specific category, I would suggest you set the Looper provider as Query Builder and select the post category from the Taxonomies select box.

In case you want the post filtered by category from the frontend on click event regretfully there is no option for that at the moment, it would require custom development, I would suggest you please contact a developer who can assist you with your concerns or you can subscribe to One where customization questions are answered. Please note we don’t provide custom development. It is out of the support scope.

Alternatively, you can use the bundled plugin called Essential grid for post-filter features.

Thanks for understanding

Thank you for your detailed answer. You guessed correctly: I want the post filtered from the frontend on click event ( from a dropdown field ) . I understand that you don’t provide it in the “core” X-Theme . I will try to push the customization with custom development and avoid using a plugin…until I have no other choice! Thanks again - please feel free to close this ticket .
