Live Preview won't work in WordPress because of Cornerstone Plugin

I have this:

… when I activate the Cornerstone plugin and try to customize my site using X Theme.

I’ve tried to troubleshoot this. I can’t seem to find a fix. I am not very experienced with this, so if anyone knows anything that can help, I’d muchly appreciate it.

Hello Grant,

Thanks for writing in!

The error message could mean that there is a JS error on the page. If you have inserted any broken html or JS code, then that must be the cause of the issue. To assist you better with this issue, would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look?

To do this, you can create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-get-support/288

Thank you.

secure note

Hello Grant,

Your homepage is not displaying the default WordPress home index. I am guessing that the homepage is displaying index.html or a custom homepage. Please disable this custom homepage and display the default WordPress home index instead.

For the meantime, please access the theme options in the link provided in the secure note below.

How do I change this? I’m sorry, I’m completely new to this, and I’m just started taking a course on it this past week, but this is not covered.

And now my cornerstone plugin won’t recognize the purchase/validation/license code I have for it.

Hello Grant,

Thanks for updating the thread.

Looks like you have changed the login credentials as they are not working. I am getting ERROR: Incorrect username or password. error message. Please confirm the login details.

Regarding Cornerstone, once you have validated X Theme, there is no need to validate Cornerstone. It gets automatically validated. Please make sure that X Theme is the active theme and is validated.

Thanks.

Okay, it’s back to normal now, thank you.

The password is reset to the one I sent.

X Theme is active. The home page still looks like this:

and I still get the same thing (see image in first post in thread).

The other guy said,

But I don’t have any idea of how to do that. I am doing this for school and have zero experience. And, ironically, my prof can’t help me. I have to have work done on it by tonight (using X Theme), and so far, I haven’t been able to do anything but fail troubleshooting for a week. I am seriously fighting an urge to throw my computer across the room.

Hello Grant,

Thanks for updating the thread.

I checked the website and looks like your website is displaying a custom html page. I suggest you to take a look at following tutorial to learn about editing a custom html page:

Thanks.

I will give it a shot, thank you.

You are most welcome.
