Live header does not match header in Pro editor

I am trying to make a responsive header. It looks good in the editor, but when it is live, it looks awful. (It does the same thing when I import a template.)
I want it to look like this

In the editor, it looks like this:

On the site, it looks like this:

There are quite a few issues: The right container does not stay right justified, the images to not respect the maximum sizes set in the editor (I have used PX, % and VW with the same result), the border does not show in the live version and how do you get the box shadow to show inside the section when you use an image as the background?

At this point, I have spent more time messing with this than it would have taken to code it by hand… Is there something I can do to fix this or am I better off not using Pro?

Also, the home page is behaving the same way. The spacing, margins and padding is not being respected on the live page but looks fine in the editor.
