Linking to a section on different screen sizes

Hi,

In a layer slider I have a button linking to a section on the same page. However, I have several sections with the same content with visibility set to certain screen sizes. So on desktop the link works fine but on other screen sizes the linked section is invisible. How can I lead that link to the different sections?

Duplicating sections with the same content is frowned up in web design. For both SEO and page size reasons. It is recommended that you make one section, and style it to be responsive.

In your current setup, the best way to handle it is to add a section with the proper ID tag above your specific content sections, using it as the placeholder or title bar. You can even set the height to 0px if need be, but just have it there and visible for the hash links. Alternatively, use rows instead of sections for the different layouts, link to the section.

I would gladly design responsively but that’s just not possible when you want a certain design. Pro’s screen size responsiveness is rather wanting in that respect. Also, that’s what visibility is for isn’t it?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! You are supposed to have only one unique ID for each section. Duplicate ID pose a problem and will create issues. The best way to do it is to have a section with your unique ID which you can use to link to the section. In your section, you can create as may rows as needed and make use of the visibility option for each rows to hide/show it in different screen sizes. There is the visibility option for row which you can find in row settings: http://prntscr.com/fvxx2u

Hope this helps.
