Linking Essential Grid Items

I can’t get the essential grid items to link on this page:

I’ve followed the online instructions by making both the layer and the cover linkable; I’ve chosen Post as the link type and I’ve entered the URL in the Post URL fields of each grid element. The links go to a blank page.
