Link posts to custom URLs

I’d like to do have posts, that contain only a title, a featured image and an (extern) URL. The images should be shown in a grid, an clicking on the image or the title (and / or the image) should lead to the extern URL.

Any way to solve this with THE GRID or Essential Grid? I tried to use the “link” post type, but this did not help …
