Link image to Envira Gallery lighbox

Hello,

I am trying link an image to an Envira lightbox to act like an album cover that open up a set of images. I am essentially trying to put multiple lightboxes in one page. It works perfectly when I follow the instructions to link text to the lightbox. Is there any way I can do the same with an image?

Hello @dsilva512,

Thanks for writing in!

Regretfully you cannot link the image to the Envira Gallery lightbox. What you can do is to link the image to the Envira Gallery page instead.

Hope this helps.

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, please create/edit your Envira Gallery, then see in the right-side there is a special shortcode in there.

Copy that shortcode and paste that to your page, now as you can see that is a text link, right? To make that an image, replace that Click here phrase with this:

<img src="YOUR TRIGGER IMAGE URL" />

Replace the YOUR TRIGGER IMAGE URL phrase with an actual image URL.

Envira Link Using an Image

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hi All,

Thanks for the help! It is almost working. When I am in the Pro editor, the link does pops up into the lightbox. But when I visit the live page, it only jumps back up to the top of the page. I cleared my cache and have tried it with different browsers. Any ideas on why it’s not responding?

Hi again,

It sounds like a cache issue as I see the content on your site is being served by the cache. Can you please clear your plugin’s cache first and then deactivate the cache plugin / optimization services and see if this helps?

Let us know how this goes!

Hello @dsilva512,

We have investigated the issue and tested over and over again. It only works in the preview area but not in the actual live page view. This could be a conflict between Envira Gallery and theme which is out of date by the way. Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 6.4.6
  • Cornerstone 3.4.6

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi. I am using Pro, and have updated all plugins and the theme. I’ve cleared the cache multiple times but still no luck. Thanks for all the help on this. I don’t think we will be able to find a solution. I’vegone ahead and added a text link to open the gallery.

Hi @dsilva512,

Please add a unique grid instead of just [envira-link id="2030"].....[/envira-link] , a gallery of the same instance will only load once and to the place, it is added. To explain this further, try clicking the Category 1 and it works, but the other isn’t. So please change the other Envira shortcode with unique IDs, and try it on Category 2 and it will work.

The reason it’s working in the builder is that preview is sandboxed, it looks like a single page view but each element preview isn’t connected to each other. Hence, the grid can’t check if the previous grid is already loaded and it will keep it loading for every instance of the same shortcode.

Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification! The end goal is to have different galleries for each category, I just haven’t created them yet. I will follow back up once I get to that stage.

No Problem.
