My cornerstone functionality seems to have been diminished for some time. For example, I was trying to make a looped video the background of a section. When watching an online tutorial there was a check mark for advanced options - which does not exist on mine. There are a lot more examples. Currently, it says there is an .6 update, but mine is at .5 and I can’t get it to update. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for writing in! Please be advised that the "Advanced Options " is only available for v2 elements. If you are using v2 element and it is not showing, then maybe it is turn off. To enable it, please go to X > Settings > Permissions > User Preferences > Advanced Mode and set it to “Always ON”.
