Lightbox videos not displaying

Hello,
I am setting up videos that open in a lightbox via links. The frame is visible but the videos are not showing up.

I am using:
<#a href="/wp-content/uploads/nativevideo.mp4" target="_blank" class=“link-lightbox”>My Video</a#>
(without the #)

followed by:
[lightbox selector=".link-lightbox"]

and I do not see the videos appearing.

I’d appreciate your assistance. I have added the details in the secure note.

Hello @mkob,

Thanks for writing in! I have checked your video and lightbox. It is set up correctly. The problem is that your video filenames are incorrect. Please always keep in mind that when uploading any files especially for the videos, you should not leave any empty spaces in the filename. For example in your video; Scalenes Stretch 71.mp4, the correct naming convention should ALWAYS be Scalenes-Stretch-71.mp4 or Scalenes_Stretch_71.mp4.

Please rename all your video filenames and reupload or reassign them again. Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. I’ve tested this by renaming one video accordingly and reuploading,

/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/SCM_Upper_Trap_Stretch_69.mp4

However, the problem persists. It’s an odd issue because if you open the lightbox and then swipe your way through the videos, you will be able to see them, but they don’t load correctly when first opening them.

I’d appreciate any help.

Hey @mkob,

The videos do not exist. It returns an Error 404. Please check the URL in the secure note.

Thanks.

@ruenel thank you for your help.

Yes, I see that is correct, however some of them are there on the site. Please see the url in the secure note. This video exists on the site but is not accessible via the lightbox link.

Hello @mkob,

It is displaying on my end and it does not look good.

To get around this, you may do the following:
1.) Edit the page and remove your lightbox shortcode.
2.) Go to Pro > Global Blocks and create a new block with a video player and your video. Take note of the shortcode.
3.) Go back to the page, insert a content area modal and make sure to insert an icon and a text for the toggle.
4.) In the content area modal content, you can simply insert your global block shortcode.

I would love to create an example for you of how this alternative solution is done. If you could make the given credential an Administrator that would be easier for me to do that.

Thank you.

Thank you very much @ruenel. If you could, I would very much appreciate it. Please see the secure note for the login details.

Hi @mkob,

The login credential you provided is not working, please update it with the correct one.

Thank you.

Sorry about that.

Hi @mkob,

The issue is still the same, please update it with the correct one.

Thank you.

Confirmed this one works. Sorry about that.

Hi @mkob,

I have checked your website and found the issue you described, theme version might be the reason behind your issue. It seems that you are still using the much older version of Pro i.e 3.1.2. I would suggest you update the theme to the latest version i.e 4.3.0 and let us know if the issue still exists.

Thanks

Thank you very much for your help.

Happy to report that this has solved the issue.

However, while I was able to update the theme on the live site fine, I was unable on the staging. It seems the staging site is not recognizing the theme license. See secure note for the license I am using.

Hi @mkob,

Glad that the problem is resolved now. Regarding the staging license, it has been found that the staging URL specified in the Themeco Account Dashboard and the actual staging URL are not the same. Please add the staging in the Location URL to validate it.

Thanks

Great, that worked perfectly. Thank you again for your help!

You are most welcome.
