I have set up a website for my firm under the address: www.hadit.pl - I have used Theme X. However now I want to develop my website’s content and would like to use the functionality of Theme Pro version. I am eligible for an optional free conversion from Theme X to Theme Pro.
The problem is: I need some time to work on the new website (creating it in Theme Pro, using subdomain address) while my website www.hadit.pl (now based on Theme X) needs to function normally until I finish. When I’m done working on the new (Theme Pro) website, I want to transfer it to my main domain (www.hadit.pl).
I realize that one can usually use ‘site production’ and ‘site staging’ options. However in my case, I need to have my production site based on Theme X, while staging site on Theme Pro license. I am aware that I can download Trial Pro, unfortunately it won’t be enough as I need to use an extensions such as Uber Menu or Slider Revolution.
Therefore I was wondering if I could only convert the license to Pro version, without updating my current website. In theory that would allow me to build my new website with the extensions, while my current website (based on Theme X) could still function without active license till I finish working on the new one. The question is, would it actually work? Will the extensions I now use on my (Theme X version) website still function properly after I convert the license to Theme Pro?
