Need some assistance with getting Cornerstone licensed on staging site (‘Uh oh, we couldn’t check if this license was valid’ error) and also need someone to look at my site, having some theme/plugin conflicts that are occurring. I will provide details and login information to the site in next reply.
Hello @ccarter3,
Thanks for writing in!
I have logged in to your site and I can see that the X theme is not active. This is why Cornerstone is asking you to validate it. Your issue is that when you validate Cornerstone, it returns an error: Uh oh, we couldn’t check if this license was valid error. This is simply because you are trying to validate Cornerstone using the X theme license code.
Please be advised that the X theme license code can only be used to validate the X theme. You will need to purchase a separate Cornerstone license from CodeCanyon if you want to use Cornerstone with other themes.
I also tested Cornerstone and it is working on my end. Please see the secure note.
Hope this helps.
Check your page link again, it is doing what my new page did - later after publishing it says “page not found” and the hero header and breadcrumbs on page navigation is not there.
Thanks for info on license, will buy stand-alone license, if we can get the test working.
Hello @ccarter3,
Cornerstone is a page builder. When you edit a page or post, all the existing page content will be discarded and will have to be replaced with what you will create inside the Cornerstone editor. You can view the test page while being login because it is a private page. Cornerstone is also working as expected.
Now, when you create a post, your current theme has a pre built structure already as shown below:
When you edit the page in Cornerstone, those pre built codes will be replaced.
Please see the secure note.
ok thanks, so my last question would be on the below link how to make the backgrounds full width (while the content text stays at the width it is now). Also, what is best way to have the hero graphic with the main title of page added in just below the breadcrumbs section. Using those codes? Is there a method to have it their automatically by default when editing in cornerstone, and then remain their when saved, or does it need to be remade in cornerstone itself?
Hello @ccarter3,
The template you are using has a contained content area or the content inside it can’t display fullwidth but will be limited to the content area for the template:
You will have to check your template settings and find a way to have the main content area to be displayed fullwidth.
Once you’re able to do that, the Cornerstone sections should display fullwidth and its background and the elements inside the container.
Hope this helps.
