License not activating after renaming domain but works on fresh WP install

Moved site to new domain and can’t activate the Pro license now.

A completely fresh WP install is the only thing that actually works. Why?

I’ve tried…

deactivating all plugins, deleting the theme and installing the latest version, it was still on 4.2.2.

Activating only the parent theme, no other theme or plugin was activated.

Saving all Pro options on all the screens I could find.

Changing permalink structure and back.

deleting all cache and cookies

It actually says Congratulations, your site is now validated!

And then it refreshes and says Contragutations! Your site is validated. Addons are now unlocked.

But then it says You’re almost finished!

Your license of Pro is not validated… blah blah blah

There might be a few different reasons for this issue, I would suggest you troubleshoot the common issues related to the Product Validation

1. Location Issues
2. Communication Error Messages

If none of the above helps, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Admin URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thank you! I’m guessing it was the 12 hour check thing because it worked now when I tried it. I didn’t realize the force check was necessary. I’m guessing that’s what the Check Now link does. I didn’t try that because I don’t think it was even there but maybe I am mistaken.

Maybe having something there to force the check in the UI when doing the validation would be a good idea. Or even making that validation force the check would be a good idea rather than using a cached API call or whatever it’s issue was.
