License doesn't appear to be an Cornerstone purchase code or Themeco license

I’m using bluehost as my host. The license was working and now it isn’t i tried to update the theme but it says this " doesn’t appear to be an Cornerstone purchase code or Themeco license". Thanks for your help.

I see that you don’t have Cornerstone licence. I also checked the licence you have shared and it seems to be a X Theme licence. Please note that you can’t validate standalone Cornerstone using X Theme licence. For that you will have to purchase fresh copy of standalone version of Cornerstone.

I don’t understand i need a license for x-theme and a license for cornerstone? So what is x-theme license then?

Here is the link to envato x-theme and it says every x-theme includes a license to cornerstone.

Hi there,

That is right. Each X license includes a license for Cornerstone which means you will not need to have a separate license for Cornerstone in order to have it validated.

There is also a standalone version of Cornerstone where you will only get a license solely for Cornerstone.

If you have an X license, you will have to have X installed and validate X then Cornerstone will be validated with it as well.

But if you only want to use Cornerstone for your site using a different theme, you will need to have the standalone Cornerstone license.

I’m not clear if the screenshot says its included. You say its included as well. I’ve never had nay issues using x-theme and cornerstone but now you tell me I need to buy cornerstone separately when i bought it included with x-theme. Not clear at all! Extremely confusing i would say.

Cornerstone is free only if you’ll use X. It is not a separate standalone license.

I think the confusion here was because you’re using a different theme in your site. We can say that by looking at the source code. Please see the screenshots in the secure note.

Please use or activate X so Cornerstone won’t ask for a license.
