License Code Error

Hi, all of a sudden one of my sites gave a message that the license needs to be fixed. When I go to input the license there I get: This looks like a brand new purchase code that hasn’t been added to a Themeco account yet. Login to your existing account or register a new one to continue. When I try to login, it asks me if I want to add the license to the account - I click yes and then it tells me the page doesn’t exist… The license has been added to the account years ago. What is happening with your system?

Hey @kcreative,

Thanks for writing in! This happens because the X theme has been deactivated on your site. Since Cornerstone plugin noticed that the X theme is no longer active, it triggers the standalone mode which is why it asked for a license. Be advised that if you are using the Cornerstone plugin as a standalone plugin and activate a different WordPress theme other than the X theme, it will always ask you to validate it. You CANNOT use the X theme license to validate Cornerstone. You can either purchase a separate Cornerstone license from Code Canyon OR simply activate the X theme.

Best Regards.

Thank you for the reply - I tried to activate the theme, but it broke the website. After further investigation it turned out that the functions.php in the child theme, the line that sets JPEG quality uses curly quotes instead of straight quotes. Fixing that resolved things.

Hello @kcreative,

Thank you for letting us know, and glad that you were able to spot the issue and correct the syntax error in your child theme code.

Thanks
