Leave a Comment Element Showing ?noamp URL/Broken Links

Hi,

I have noticed that there are a couple of issues in regards to the comment button element.

  1. The URL that button (with no comments) directs me to example.com/post/?noamp=mobile#respond. This URL works fine.
  2. The URL the comment button (with 1 or more comments) directs me to example.com/post/?noamp=mobile#comments but this URL does not work.

What is going on and how would I fix this? I really have no idea why it would be adding our AMP query parameter?

I have the Text Setup and Link configured correctly so I am at a loss. The links for all three (0 comments, 1 comment, 2+ comments) all have the same link - {{dc:post:comment_link}}.

Thanks and regards,

Josh

Hey Joshua,

I have replicated the issue you described and the solution is to add comments as an ID of the Comment Form.

I’ll post this case in our issue tracker maybe our development team will release a solution for this out of the box in the future.

Regarding the ** noamp=mobile** part, that is not coming from Pro so regretfully, we cannot provide further help for that. Though I understand you’re using Pro’s Dynamic Content, it’s actually a 3rd party code that is also connecting to the Comment Form link so both Pro and the 3rd party plugin are connected to the Comment Form. Please contact the plugin author to make his plugin disconnect from the Comment Form.

Thanks.

Hi @jogordo4,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We were able to confirm the Comment List element was not outputting the id="comments" attribute. We’ve corrected this for the next release.

Hi,

@alexander - Awesome, thank you for that! The next release’s features sound great.

@christian - Thank you for that. The noamp=mobile part I am not too worried about especially since the fix is coming in the next release. I will contact the Google AMP plugin team about this though. I think it may have something to do with an AMP comment add-on plugin for comments in Reader Mode.

Thanks and regards,

Josh

Glad that we could be of help.

Cheers!
