Laywer Template questions

Hi,

I am playing around with the Laywer template, and I am having trouble getting it to look the same as the demo site. Specifically the left side.

I have attached 2 screen shots. One of the demo and one of my version. All I did was change the colour of the background of page header V2.

As you can see mine the picture goes all the way to left side fo the screen.

Also the gap has white underneath it, and I can’t figure out how to change this colour to match the colour in the page header V2.

Any insight would be great.
