I created a layout for a Custom Post type “Events”, and the layout is assigned Post Type is Event, but when I click on any event it’s not adopting the layout. What could be the issue?
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for reaching out.
It seems that you want to show the Single Event page through that layout. Please make sure that you have created a Single layout not the Archive one. And, if you are talking about the Modern Event Calendar, there is an ongoing issue with the MEC and the custom layout and that might be the reason behind your issue too.
Thanks
Hi, and thanks for the quick reply. You were right. I was creating an archive layout…didn’t even look at that. I changed it and that helped. I did however, create another issue that I can’t figure out. With making edits to the CPT UI for events, the events listing on the events page shows them as an archive now, instead of the actual page the way I designed it. how can I undo that so that it doesn’t show as an archive. I already deleted the archive layout, and cleared the style cache.
Hi Ashley,
If you have already deleted the Archive Layout and that is still showing, it might be due to the server-level cache. I would suggest you contact your hosting provider to purge all the server-level cache, and check if that resolves your issue or not. If that does not help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
– Specific Archive URL where you are having this problem.
To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
Thanks
