Layout Conditions: 'No Options' for Categories

Creating a new post layout with layout builder. I would like to build individual layouts based on category, but ‘post category’ shows ‘no options’ for categories already setup in WP. I have tried deactivating all plugins and still the same result. Anyone out there experience the same thing? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Ayjao, i actually just published a similar support request.
I have established that only post categories the have greater than 0 posts are visible to the conditions field of the layout builder. I am hoping that this is a bug or that there is a workaround but that is becoming less and less likely.

Thanks for reaching out.
Please remember that Layouts can only assign to the Categories which have the posts assigned to it. Categories with no post will not come into the list while assigning the Layouts from Layout Builder.
If that is not the case and no categories are listed into the Layout Builder even if that has posts assigned, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks @etheodore and @tristup, this was helpful. After reading this, noticed that my category ‘count’ was 0 (post is currently a draft, so had been privately posted). Once I test published the post, the category populated in Layout Builder.
