Hello @Jennine,
Thanks for writing in!
You will need to insert a video element that loads dynamic content for the video source. You can then use a condition on this video element that it will only display if the post format is “Video”.
By the way, at the moment, you do not have any post that has a video post format.
Best Regards.
Ok Thanks. I was able to implement that instruction. But I would like the image that is there to be replaced with the video. So on video posts, when the user clicks through to the blog post I would like the video there with the content under it as opposed to the static image. If it’s not a video post I would like the static image there. As it is now both video and images are there. It should be one or the other pending on the post format. Pease see link: https://www.snpnyc.org/blog-post-3/
Thanks for your help
Hi @Jennine,
Add your Image element in the same place as the video, then set a condition to it Post Format is not video
What will that do is, when the post format is video then that image will not show.
If that did not work, please provide us login credentials in a “Secure Note” so we can take a closer look.
Cheers,
The image is actually set up as a dynamic background image to the column. So I’m not sure how to proceed. Thanks
Hi Jennine,
Thank you for the credentials but it did not work, please check.
Then please reconstruct that, have the dynamic image in the same place as the video, then one will show base on the condition. If it’s video, then the video will show, if not then the image.
Actually, if the column that has that background-image is the same column where the video is placed, then that will still work, have the condition on the video, so if a video is present, then it will cover the background-image, if no video then you can see the background-image of the column (just add a min-height to your column)
Cheers,
Hi sorry, its still not working. I attached the correct credentials. Thanks again for your help.
Great thanks so much. Is there a way for them to not open to their own page?
sorry i was not clear. I mean it appears that there is a target="_blank" somewhere that is making the blog post open in a new tab
Hello @Jennine,
It opens to a new tab because you have enabled the “New Tab” setting in Link option:
Please disable it instead.
oh boy…thanks.
